International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia

International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia falls on May 17th, chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization's decision in 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder. It aims to celebrate sexual and gender diversity, and campaign against the violence and discrimination experienced by LGBTQI+ people internationally. It is estimated that 70 percent of the world's population live under laws and regulations that limit freedom of expression around sexual orientation and gender identity.

The online seminar is pre-recorded and will be available for quite some time after, so you can choose a time and day to view that works best for you. Participants will benefit by

  • Recognizing one's own unconscious biases
  • Understanding about challenges faced by the LGBTQI+ community
  • Learning some strategies to be more inclusive at an individual level
  • Learning some strategies to make the workplace more inclusive for LGBTQI+ coworkers
