That's why we offer support and resources specifically designed to help leadership and HR in their roles. The EAP is here to support wellness in the workplace. That means 24/7 support, assistance by phone day or night for personal and organizational needs. EAP training and wellness seminars: education for personal and professional development. Online leadership development resources: digital resources to help leaders grow. Critical incident response, or CIR. Management consultation and EAP referrals: guidance in helping troubled employees. Our Employer Communication Planner, our ready-to-use toolkit to help promote EAP. Anthem EAP offers a complete catalog of training and wellness seminars on many different personal and professional development topics. Employees can learn from an experienced subject matter expert on things like workplace conflict, improving communication, taking care of your mental health, finances, parenting, nutrition, and more. Your organization's EAP includes a bank of hours to be used for on-site or virtual EAP training events. The format, topic, and length of the session is up to you. Scheduled training sessions won't work for your team? No problem. We can turn any of the topics in our catalog into a customized podcast or videocast so your employees can learn from our experts whenever is right for them. If you think your team would benefit from an EAP training, check with your benefits team or your Anthem EAP account manager to learn more. Anthem's expert management consultations are available 24/7 to help you address workplace-specific challenges and help you support your team. They can also help you decide when and how to refer employees to the EAP. Management consultation services mainly fall into two categories: risk management consultation and performance management consultation. Risk management consultation primarily focuses on managing crises or significant events impacting your employees. These may involve safety concerns at work, traumatic occurrences such as an employee's death, issues related to substance abuse by an employee, or finding the best ways to support an emotionally distressed employee. Performance management consultations come into play when concerns about an employee's performance arise. These consultations are designed to equip leadership with the confidence to manage such situations effectively, ensuring minimal risk exposure. Management consultation services are unlimited and private. Any manager or supervisor can call for a management consultation and you are not committing to any course of action by consulting with the EAP. It's our goal to partner with you. It can help to have an unbiased professional to think through these complex issues with. As a reminder, EAP management consultants are not legal professionals and decisions related to employee and workplace matters are up to you as the expert on your business. You should always follow company policies and procedures and loop in your HR and legal teams as appropriate, even when consulting with the EAP. As a leader, you are uniquely positioned to notice when an employee is struggling. We hope you'll always remind employees that the EAP is available to help with everyday issues and more complex situations and is totally confidential. However, when there are work performance concerns, referrals to EAP may become more structured and formal. A management referral can provide a confidential outlet for employees to address contributing factors to their performance issues. In these formal scenarios, the employee signs a release of information form permitting the EAP to share specific details with you, their employer. This shared information is strictly limited to attendance and compliance. You have peace of mind knowing they're getting support and the employee still has a confidential space to work through the issue. When faced with a circumstance that seems suitable for a management referral, it's important to first consult with your management team along with the HR and legal departments. Once a collective decision to pursue a management referral is made, reaching out to EAP for a management consultation follows. If you aren't sure whether a formal management referral is the right fit for your situation, call and consult with us. It can be a gray area, and remember, you are not committing to any course of action by consulting with the EAP. We are here to explore options and the decision is up to you. If there is a difficult or traumatic situation that affects an entire group of employees, we can provide critical incident response, or CIR. A CIR can help minimize the long-term impact of a traumatic incident, improve employees' sense of safety and wellbeing, and ultimately help return the team to a productive level following workplace accidents, violence, natural disasters, the loss of a coworker, and many other events. The first step to scheduling a CIR is to call and speak to one of the EAP management consultants. Even if you end up deciding not to hold a CIR right away, it can be helpful to discuss how to best support your employees after a critical incident. If you decide to hold a CIR for your team, we'll help set everything up at a time and place that works best. The CIR counselor will provide information about natural reactions, healing and resilience, and discuss resources, including those available through the EAP. Your EAP with Anthem includes a bank of hours for CIRs. Your organization may have limitations around this process, so be sure to check in with your manager or benefits director before initiating a CIR. Managers can use the Employer Communication Planner to help promote EAP benefits to employees by sharing bite-sized information via email, text, flyers, and articles. This feature includes what, when, and how to share the information with your team. If you think these materials would benefit your team, reach out to HR for access. Don't wait for a small issue today to grow into a larger and more complicated one tomorrow. Make the wellbeing and productivity of your team a priority. Contact your EAP today to get started.
